Sorry if i am about to infringe on your website rules but i thought I would like to introduce myself.

Im the secretary of the club below and as far as I am aware, we are the only club in Wales that allows nitro and electric but most important of all, petrol large scale. Unfortunately we are off road.

If any of you guys are over this way, drop a line, I am sure we could accomodate your racing somehow.

Tim

Hey Tim. welcome our club forum, ya id love to go racing the large scale monsters, we tryed to get on road large scale racing going but failed due to the cost of running of them i think  , so that ment that i have a shed full of them doing notting, i have 3 on road and 4 off roaders, 2 beetles, pajero and a marder all made by fg, so i might be very interested in traveling over with them some time for a weekend event, keep us informed as to a events coming up in the near future,

Weekend events we can do. But i fear for something like that I would have to get somebody else to do the race format.

But where there is way im sure it could be done. Somehow.

Seeing as I may not come back here too often, could you get somebody to drop a line then can chat that way. Currently we are only doing Sundays but if the numbers are there, Im sure we can extend.

I am also adding the same words to another forum on your side of the water to try to get the word out

Tim

Our committee are committed to large scale as we have between us over 10 petrol (I have 2 marder 1 mt) as well as nitro/electric and at least 1 petrol 26cc racing boat.

If we did a race meeting with you and your colleagues, we would possibly try to include nitro cars as well (not at the same time obviously) to make it cost effective. Or would you guys be against that ?

Going by the BRCA handbook oversea visitors do NOT need to be members of BRCA as you would have visitor status (3 visits per year per club) as long as you were members of your own national association. I have asked for clarification of BRCA insurance on this.

That way we could make a weekend.

I believe the ferry into pembroke gets in around 2pm or earlier, 3/4 hour drive to track, unload etc etc, be able to practice from 5ish. or obviously come on a Friday.

if you read this, could you forward to others who might be daft enough to pop over ?

Thanks for that.

Just that some clubs get worried over hijacking of their site or members etc etc. but i think in this case its fairly obvious.

Just in case anyone was worried about this idea being a full blown international, its not. We are just mere mortals and have a friendly club thats probably closer to you guys and we are to England.

We are happy to accept everybody.

For us as a club with a new off road track to offer a weekends racing we would need to expand a bit yet. Hopefuilly within the next few weeks we shall ba able to make the plunge with an ambrc timing system (are they cheaper in Ireland ?) but at the moment we only have an infra red system - better used for indoor racing.

Camping (on a minimalistic set up - field, no water or electricity but we have a loo) is not a problem though.

Not being a techie type, could somebody set up a poll to see what the interest would be ?

Im not trying to wind anybody up, more to be honest.

Tim

We are currently in the procedd of raising funds to buy an AMB system as well as we are using the IR system now ourselves so at least we have something in common
They are very expensive over here so are so will be buying from AMB in Holland.

What poll do you want setup ?
