After our new motor problems last night, I pulled one apart to night and found the brushes were not very free in the brush guide, I cleaned the inside of the guide and got some black deposits from it, I suspect it may be grease that has gone off and was hindering the brushes movements. I put a tiny rub of copper grease on the sides of the brushes and reassembled. I ran the motor and it appeared fine. After five mins running I thought it would be a good idea to run it under load outside on the tarmac, it ran up and down faultlessly untill I struck a little problem, well actually a large problem in the shape of a large scoury PupPoo! which deposited itself all along the bottom of the car and up through the various vents that run along the bottom of the car, I will now have to pull the car apart as the s**t has gone everywhere ahhhhhhhhhhh!!     (anyone interested in a 6 month old Great Dane..ish pup who likes to dig holes in the lawn and thinks wherever he's standing is a good place for a dump)

Spray it down with WD40 and give it a good blow out with a compressor. that will get off most of the Doo-Doo's

Back on topic;; I recieved an EMail today from Team Orion

"We did have a problem with this last year with 1 bad batch. This can be fixed very easy. The problem is that the tab in the bottom of the brush holders has too much tension. (Brush bounce spring) This just needs to be pushed down to let the brushes move freely inside the brush holders."

As it happens I had already bent the tab down, so hopefully next Wed night "NO MOTOR PROBLEMS!" Lotus.
