Are we ever going to have a meeting to sort out what we are going to do about the future of the club and getting more drivers to turn up more regularly.
And talk about runing races every second weekend

I agree with Paul, I think we need to have a meeting, a lot has happened since we last met in John Fentons. Were kinda stumbling along at the moment.

Hi lads.
I was down at the race day on the 8th of March and loved it. I may have been a spectator but I thought it was great to see such a big turn out. I was in two clubs in Dublin. last year, I made a start in ST Annes and previously a small club in Tallaght. The club in Tallaght was quit small but the spirt (when I started 3yrs ago) was great. Then it started to shrink and then it died! St Annes is well organised and disiplined. Everybody works together and dates are set,
http://www.rc-racingireland.com/content/view/13/29/.
Fees are paid on the day or on-line and the racing is great.
I am very interested in R/C and now that I have moved down from Dublin I am looking for a club similar to St Annes. I will be making the change from Nitro to Electric over the coming months. I would love to continue racing R/C, electric or nitro with any club.
I would agree with paulm and I would also like to make a suggestion. Note i don't know how offen the hall is booked or used.
How about once a month for the 12 months of the year. As you are lucky to have a great venue it would be a shame to lose it on low numbers. Apart from the venue being cold, the club is relatively unaffected by the elements. By setting a calendar for a race once a month, every second or third weekend, you are giving people a chance to plan.
I have been all over the forum to find the race dates, but have not seen anything. Please direct me to a link of the dates, if there is one.
I don't wish to make the change to find another R/C club disappear. If your club needs funding I'm sure a club breif at the venue can cover it in one go.

I hope my plee to stay racing and join your club has been justified. If there are any spelling errors, tough, I'm not going to preview this every time I stop writting a line or more...

Regards,

Hello Keith, I think I was talking to you on Sunday (did I let you drive my Swift?) anyway its good to find someone else interested in joining the club. At the moment the club meet every Wed night but in recent months the numbers have been falling, I believe due to no championship being run, the Sunday meeting is a new idea weve been trying out to see what the interest is. You have experience of other clubs so your input is very welcome please feel free to throw your ideas into the pot,
Kieran.

Hi Keith,
And welcome to this section on the forum.
All suggestions etc. are gladly welcomed and will be taken on board and discussed.
We actually are Trying tp organise ever 2nd or 3rd weekend as a full day racing BUT the problem we are having is to try to arrange a time to suit the majority of members as we dont want to leave anyone out as we feel this could lead to them losing interest as you say and walking away.  :smt011
We would be delighted to see you join up with us and come along as often as possible.
We will be running 6 years this August and by hook or by crook we will not let it die. Have no worries about that.  :smt002

We meet every wed night from 7.30 to 9.30 so if you want to come along and have a chat about what Kit you might want to purchase or whatever there will always be some member free to chat with you. Also, Some members have some \kits for sale Second hand if that would suit you?

Look forward to meeting you again.  :smt004

Yes we will sort it out ,
What I`m trying at the mo is do a championship for 12 weeks just trying to sort out the dates so it dont upset my F1 dates aswell  :smt003

I`m thinking about 12 weeks and the best of 8.
So we will have 4 heats and 2 finals per day.. :smt002
I`m hopeing to start this championship next sat or sunday week but need to find out who can make it and is it ok to run on the sat or sunday .
I`ll talk to vectra about the sat/sun because he needs the go ahead from the school .

Thats the way I would go for now anyway
As it is a best of 8 out of 12 rounds everyone would have time to fill that :smt004

If we actually met and talked about when we should race it might help
