I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the Capacitors on the motor (on the Orion it had tiny surface mount caps that fell out after I did a strip down and clean) I got some and soldered one from the can of the motor to the + terminal, another from the can to the - terminal and a third from the + terminal to the - terminal. That’s three Capacitors I think they were 1uf, if you need any pm me your address and I'll post you up some. |

Seriously check the caps on your motor, I had exactly the same problem, changed everything including transmitter, only cured once I fitted the caps. |

How could the problem lie with the motor , when it go's full power in close range , but only acts up if the car is further away .... ?? Interferance from the motor would possibly be stronger when your signal gets weaker. |

Just a few general comments. Have you always had this problem? You've tried all different transmitter / receiver / crystals. Still the same the it can't be them Have you tried a different servo? (Trust me then can cause interference.) How old is the motor, are the brushes worn down? How clean is the comm.? Are there capacitors on the motor? If so are they un-damaged? The last thing to look at is the layout of the car. Try to route the cables neater. Try for something like this: http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu17 ... 1245617018 MiCk B. :-) |
