Bit overdone on the HDR,
make a layer with the HDR sky
make a layer with normal sky behind
Reduce layer opacity of HDR Sky

TA...Da

O and do the same with the tarmac

Much better

Yeap 90% of the time but i bet this contrat thingy works on the same princples, you dont see all its workings as all we do is click the filter button,
but i bet it creates three layers through contrasting
layer 1 contrasted for deep shadows
layer 2 contrasted for midtone
layer three contrasted for higlights

merge them all together and you get your effect. If you look at tyour Contrast Cross you can clearly see the ghosting effect around the cross which is found in over processed HDR's
